Amplifying Appalachia 2022 Edit-a-thon

We invite you to participate in our second annual “Amplifying Appalachia” at WVU Edit-a-thon, in order to develop Wikipedia pages about people, events, and ideas often overlooked but truly important to West Virginia and the rest of the region.
Our Edit-a-thon is focused on amplifying the stories and figures of under-represented Appalachian artists, writers, and other creators, particularly womxn, people of color, and LGBTQ individuals.
This event is asynchronous, which means that from March 21-25, 2022, you can make edits to related Wikipedia pages at any time that is convenient for you. However, we will be holding two synchronous Zoom events:
- Welcome session, with some tips and tricks, Monday 3/21 at 10 a.m. EST
- Closing session, for editing help and troubleshooting AND first crack at the SWAG!! Friday, 3/25 at 2 p.m. EST
Zoom links are available on the event Dashboard. See https://twitter.com/wvuLibraries for live updates during the event!
