ART+FEMINISM 2023 Vanderbilt University Art Gallery - Iranian Women Artists
Editing Wikipedia to make women artists/curators/scholars more visible is activism. Why do we edit? To make women’s lives and their work visible, to preserve their stories.
This year’s Art+Feminism campaign works to improve coverage of Iranian women artists, their art, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia.
Art+Feminism is a do-it-yourself and do-it-with-others campaign teaching people of all gender identities and expressions to edit Wikipedia.
At Vanderbilt we’re editing during March, with an edit-a-thon March 7 from 11:30am to 4:30pm. Add your favorite woman Iranian artist, architect, designer, critic, scholar, or curator to our list of articles.
We’ll teach you how to edit and have tips and suggestions from easy changes to larger projects. No experience required. All are welcome; Bring your laptop and a power cord. Light lunch provided.
