Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Queer Womxn of New England Through History
Did you know that according to most available data only about 18% of all biographies on Wikipedia are about female-identifying people?1 Help The History Project to improve the digital visibility of womxn and celebrate International Women’s Day by editing and adding articles on Wikipedia. Join the very first Wikipedia Edit-a-thon hosted by The History Project and learn more about queer womxn of New England including Sarah Orne Jewett, Elaine Noble, Rita Hester and Beverly Smith, among others. The event will be conducted over Zoom. Reference materials and a pre-reordered training presentation on how to work on Wikipedia will be provided for your use throughout the event.
