Community Hours: A+F for #WPWP (Session 2)

August 8th, 2021
Online
4:00pm — 5:00pm UTC
Art+Feminism

Join A+F Canadian Ambassador Sofia Stancioff and A+F Northeast Ambassador Alison Baitz on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 4pm UTC for Community Hours: A+F for #WPWP.

Art+Feminism is participating in Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (#WPWP), a worldwide campaign dedicated to grabbing photos that already exist on Wikimedia Commons and plucking them into Wikipedia pages that have no images.

This session will cover the basics of searching Wikimedia Commons and adding images to Wikipedia pages. This session will also launch a pilot project dedicated to communicating directly with artists to solicit images that could be used on Wikipedia pages. The instructional section will be short, and will allow time for both questions and communal editing.

No experience needed. This session will be in English and presented on Zoom and recorded. Closed captioning is provided by Otter.ai.

Registration Notes

Please register by 7pm UTC on Saturday, August 7. The Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants. If you do not receive the link, please email kira@artandfeminsim.org

Data/Internet Connectivity Reimbursement

For Community Hours attendees who reside in regions where expenses for private internet/data costs are prohibitively expensive, Art+Feminism is able to offer a $5 USD stipend to offset costs. The form will be available at the session.
